There were no severe systemic violations that would affect the voting results in the elections to the State Duma (lower house of parliament) of Russia, head of the CIS observer mission, Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Ilkhom Nematov said, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.
“The observer mission didn’t record any serious systemic violations that would affect the outcome of the voting results,” he said, speaking at the Central Election Commission (CEC).
“The CIS observer mission concludes that the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the 8th convocation were held under the electoral legislation in force in the country. The elections corresponded to the principles of holding democratic elections were open and competitive,” Nematov added.
