Cavusoglu: Türkiye will not abandon its balanced foreign policy

Türkiye is not going to abandon its balanced foreign policy, which today is one of the pillars of trust in official Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, Report informs via Anadolu.

He noted that although Türkiye is a member of NATO, and at the same time, the national interests of the country have always been a priority.

"We will not abandon our balanced policy just to please someone," he stressed.

As an example, the minister drew attention to the situation in Ukraine, where the war has been going on for more than a year.

"It is no coincidence that the parties to the conflict in Ukraine turned to Ankara regarding the exchange of prisoners, as well as the situation around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. All this is an indicator of trust in Türkiye," Cavusoglu said.

Cavusoglu further noted that Ankara maintains a principled position on the issue of supporting the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and does not recognize the annexation of the Crimean peninsula by the Russian side.
