Tehran to host Caspian summit in 2026

The Caspian states summit will be held in August 2026, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani said, Report informs referring to Russian media.
"I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran will host the 7th Caspian states summit in August 2026. We hope that on the International Caspian Sea Day and the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Tehran Convention, we will proudly host the presidents of the Caspian states in Tehran," he said.
Rouzbehani added that Iran also intends to hold the first international meeting of governors of the Caspian Sea coastal provinces in 2025.
He noted that the purpose of this meeting is to provide a stable platform for dialogue, exchange of experience and interaction at the level of the leadership of the Caspian provinces, strengthening economic and regional diplomacy by using the potential of the provinces, identifying opportunities for cross-border cooperation between neighboring provinces of the Caspian Sea basin, as well as implementing joint projects.
"The invitation and the program of the meeting will be sent to all Caspian countries in the near future," the diplomat said.
