Case against son of ex-President of Armenia soon to be sent to court

The case against the son of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, an MP from the Hayastan faction Levon Kocharyan, will soon be sent to court, Levon Kocharyan himself told reporters, Report informs.

According to him, the day before, as part of the criminal case initiated against him, he was summoned to the Investigative Committee (IC). Also, his friend Sergei Asaturov was summoned for questioning, then he was given a written undertaking not to leave the place.

The Investigative Committee also changed some aspects of the charges against Kocharyan, and the investigator reported that the case was closed and would soon be sent to court. Kocharyan did not provide other details, calling the charges absurd and the case fabricated.

He recalled that it was the police who used force when detaining him during the protest, in connection with which the lawyer filed a statement based on which a criminal case was initiated. Even though the fact of him being beaten was confirmed by both forensic examination and video materials, to this day no one has been brought to justice.
