It is necessary to develop transport communications, sign agreements in the field of transport and transit among the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member countries, caretaker Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said at the 16th summit of the ECO in the capital of Uzbekistan, according to Report’s correspondent from Tashkent.
“The ECO region is rich in natural resources, cultural heritage, all this is the basis for economic integration,” he noted.
He added that despite the enormous potential, the ECO’s share in global trade is only 2%. Therefore, it is very important to strengthen regional trade, interconnectivity and transport corridors, he said.
