The initiation of impeachment proceedings against the President of Georgia will increase polarization in the country, Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for foreign affairs and security policy, who is on a visit to Tbilisi, told a press conference with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, Report informs.

Borrell said that in order to become a EU member, the country needed stable institutions and less tensions.
