EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, during negotiations with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Brussels, called for speeding up the implementation of a number of measures, Report informs.

“I was glad to host PM Kobakhidze yesterday on his first foreign visit as Georgia’s PM. Substantial exchange on reform efforts and EU support to Georgia’s resilience. I encouraged to advance implementation of 9 steps, including on elections, foreign policy alignment and fighting Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI),” Borrell wrote on X.

Following the negotiations between Borrell and Kobakhidze, a joint press conference was held, where it was announced that the EU and Georgia had strengthened cooperation in the field of security, cyber defense and logistics capabilities, and 63 million euros had been allocated for these purposes.

Kobakhidze’s visit to Brussels began on February 20. He held meetings with European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi and President of the European Council Charles Michel, and also took part in a meeting of the Georgia-EU Association Council.
