Blinken supports Turkey's decision on ties with Armenia

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has commented on Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's recent statements on normalizing relations with Armenia, Report informs.

Blinken said he supported Ankara's decision to appoint a special envoy to start a dialogue with Armenia.

"We welcome and strongly support statements by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia on appointing Special Envoys to discuss the process of normalization," Blinken tweeted.

Speaking at the Turkish Grand National Assembly on December 13, Cavusoglu said steps would be taken to normalize relations with Armenia.

"In the near future, we will appoint mutual special envoys to normalize relations with Armenia. We will act together with Azerbaijan at every step," he added.
