The Chairman of the Board of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Foundation, Professor Aygun Attar, sharply criticized the mass arrests, pressure, and persecution against Azerbaijanis in Russia.
As Report informs, she wrote about this in her post on X.
"Who gave the order to kill Azerbaijani Turks in Russia by the hands of the state? What does it mean to kill four members of one family in their own home in the hands of Russian special forces? Hey, shameless Putin, do you miss the USSR, which was a prison of nations?" Attar wrote.
The professor emphasized that state terror against non-Russian peoples has actually begun in Russia:
"I call on all people, especially about three million Azerbaijanis living in Russia, to protest. I strongly condemn the Kremlin, its Russian chauvinism, separatist sentiments, and Islamophobic approach!"
She added that even the brutal aggression against Ukraine—a Slavic country with the same language, religion, and roots—could not stop Putin:
"Because he, imitating Stalin, continues a ruthless policy that denies the right of non-Russians to exist. May Allah have mercy on our compatriots whose homes in Yekaterinburg were raided by Russian intelligence officers, who beat and killed them in front of their families just because they protested against being sent to war in Ukraine. May those who committed this terrorist act be cursed!"
