Russia responds to Moldova's president

"Changes in the status quo will destabilize the Transnistrian region."
Report informs citing the RIA Novosti, Russia's Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to Moldovan President Maia Sandu's proposal to withdraw Russian peacekeepers and weapons from the Transnistrian region.
According to him, Russia plays a crucial role in this region of Moldova: "We believe that all this will be discussed and no harsh action will be taken in this regard."
Notably, Maia Sandu said there were no similarities between Transnistria and Azerbaijan's Karabakh conflict settlement.
At a news conference on November 30, Maia Sandu called for the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria and the deployment of OSCE civilian observers.
