Armenian MFA: Return of Azerbaijanis is not on agenda of negotiations

The issue of the return of Azerbaijanis (Western Azerbaijanis -ed.) to Armenia is not on the agenda of the peace treaty negotiations, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mnasakan Safaryan, said in an interview with journalists in the parliament on November 23, Report informs.

He called the raising of the issue of the return of Western Azerbaijanis to Armenia by Azerbaijan a “non-constructive approach”.

Note that in the late 1980s of the last century, about 300,000 Azerbaijanis were forcibly expelled from their homeland and deprived of Armenian citizenship.
