The Armenian Consulate has been closed in Russia’s Ural region.

According to Report, citing Ura.ru and the consulate itself, the decision followed the suspension of the status of Armenia’s Honorary Consul in Yekaterinburg, Narek Spartakyan.

“Dear citizens, due to the suspension of the status of Armenia’s Honorary Consul in Yekaterinburg, Narek Spartakyan, we regret to inform you that the office of the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Yekaterinburg has ceased its activities. Over the past seven years, more than 57,000 citizens have turned to us,” the statement said.
