Armenia to host COP17 in 2026

In 2026, Armenia is set to host the seventeenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, Armenia’s Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan informed on Facebook, Report informs referring to News.am.
“With 65 votes in favor, Armenia was selected as the host country for the Conference of the Parties on Biodiversity,” Simidyan added.
This decision was made by the countries participating in COP16 being held in Cali, Colombia.
The event is dedicated to discussing environmental issues, and finding agreed solutions to stop climate change and protect biodiversity.
