"Hypocrisy is the classic style of Armenia. Throughout history, even when their statehood did not yet exist, they tried to ensure their existence by cooperating with completely rival states. We have witnessed the same behavior concerning Azerbaijan. Even though Azerbaijan allocated land on its lands 200 years ago, it has taken action to seize Azerbaijani lands over time," Political scientist Elchin Mirzabeyli told Report.
He said that there is a state called today's Armenia in the historical lands of Azerbaijan:
"The same allegations were made against Azerbaijan on the eve of the collapse of the USSR. These events took place in front of everyone's eyes. We should not be surprised by Armenia's hypocritical policy since this is the nature of Armenian politics. In the current situation, it is generally nonsense to take manipulative actions between NATO and Russia. Because Armenia is actually represented in the CSTO. The tendency of a member state to join another military-political bloc is an unprecedented approach. Armenia's inclination to NATO should be seen as a betrayal of both the CSTO and Russia, which plays a dominant role there."
The political scientist stressed that Armenia's sending of Su-30 fighters to Ukraine is ridiculous:
"In essence, this proves the two-headed game of Armenia. On the one hand, it wants to show that its military cooperation with Russia is at a high level. On the other hand, it is trying to justify itself before NATO to prove that this is not the case. It is a fact that Armenian fighters took part in military operations in Ukraine, and the movement of these planes was proved by obtaining appropriate space images. Despite the confirmation of this fact, Armenia brought the fighters to its territory after the operation, showing NATO attachés that these fighters did not take part in military operations. On the one hand, it wants to show that it is on Russia's side, and on the other hand, it is justifying itself in front of NATO."
