The draining of Lake Urmia is part of the policy of the mullahs' regime. This system is hostile to the name of Azerbaijan, the head of South Azerbaijan TV, Ahmad Obali, said in a meeting with the members of the Azerbaijani Parliament in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that he always thanked all the martyrs, heroes, and the President of Azerbaijan for restoring national pride:
"We are getting closer to the goal we have been dreaming of for years. The President of Azerbaijan is not only the conqueror who liberated Karabakh, but at the same time, he is interested in the fate of the citizens of South Azerbaijan."
"Our language has been banned for a century. Our lands have been looted. The draining of Lake Urmia is part of the policy of the mullahs' regime. This system is hostile to the name of Azerbaijan. In the last two years, they passed a new law to eradicate us. This is related to the adequacy of knowledge of the Persian language. Every child in Iran must know Farsi to go to school. Those who don't know will be sent to a private school. Those schools are also for the mentally disabled," he stressed.
