Afghanistan may attend BRICS Summit

The Afghan delegation may participate in the BRICS summit in Russia's Kazan or the next high-level meeting of the organization, said Minister of Trade and Industry of the Taliban government, Nuriddin Azizi, Report informs via TASS.

"We indeed wrote a letter [with an application to participate in the BRICS summit in Kazan] and sent it, and the responsible BRICS officials are considering our letter... Perhaps this time or next time we will participate [in the BRICS summit]," he said on the sidelines of the Kazakh-Afghan business forum.

According to Azizi, Afghanistan would like to "participate as an observer."
