Action demanding to send Saakashvili for treatment abroad to be held in 17 countries

Action in support of the imprisoned third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, demanding his transfer for medical treatment abroad, will be held on Monday in 17 countries. This is the second international #SaveMisha campaign after January 4.

Report informs citing the Georgian media that the rallies and pickets will be held at the call of the Russian opposition leader, human rights activist Mark Feigin.

In Washington, the action was announced not far from the White House, in London, it will be held at the Houses of Parliament. Actions near government buildings and embassies of Georgia will be held in Paris, Berlin, Warsaw, Dusseldorf, Vienna, Rome, The Hague, Madrid, Kiev, Riga, Athens, Chisinau, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Sofia.

In Tbilisi, the action gathers at 15.00 near the building of the State Chancellery of the Government, in Batumi, in the "quarter of freedom".

The government excludes Saakashvili's transfer for treatment to another country. The Georgian authorities insist that the talk about Saakashvili's critical condition is part of a public relations campaign, and he is faking it in order to secure his release.

Saakashvili has been in the Vivamed clinic in Tbilisi since last May, where he was transferred from prison after two hunger strikes.
