At least 55 prisoners were executed in prisons in Iran in July, according to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Report informs via Iran International.
This figure means a 400 percent increase compared to June when 11 prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons.
Last month, 14 ethnic Azerbaijanis (Azerbaijani Turks), eight Baloch, six Kurds, three Gilaks, three Lors, as well as seven citizens of Afghanistan were executed in Iranian prisons. Five women were exeted through hanging in the Birjand prison of the Islamic Republic, and one woman was executed through hanging in each of the Shiraz and Khurramabad prisons.
