A Turkish court has sentenced 17 members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) to aggravated life imprisonment. These individuals, all part of the so-called "National Peace Council", have been found guilty of their involvement in the failed coup attempt of 2016.
According to Report, which cites TRT Haber, Türkiye's national public broadcaster, the Supreme Court has upheld the verdict, confirming a total of 138 aggravated life sentences for the 17 defendants implicated in the FETÖ coup plot case.
Similar verdicts have been handed down to other members of the FETÖ organization in recent years.
