Zelenskyy imposes sanctions against Rosatom and key Russian energy structures

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees imposing new personal and sectoral sanctions against 35 individuals and legal entities associated with Rosatom state corporation and Russian energy companies, according to the decrees of the head of state and statement by the president's Sanctions Commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.
On August 8, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to impose new special sanctions against the Russian corporation Rosatom and its global infrastructure.
These measures were approved by Ukrainian presidential decrees No 594/2025 and No 595/2025.
The sanctions cover 18 individuals and 17 legal entities involved in attempts to integrate the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant into the Russian energy system, participation in the seizure of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, production and maintenance of dual-use nuclear equipment, and export of enriched uranium through subsidiaries in Europe.
The key figures on the list include Nikita Konstantinov, deputy general director of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, as well as the companies Uranium One Holding N.V. (Netherlands), Rosatom Finance Ltd (Cyprus) and Kirov-Energomash JSC (Russia).
Vlasiuk noted that the expansion of sanctions pressure on Rosatom is an integral part of the fight to limit Russia's access to critical nuclear technology and financing.
