World’s oldest woman dies in Japan

Japanese woman Kane Tanaka, recognized in 2019 as the oldest person on earth, has died at the age of 120, Report informs citing RIA Novosti.

Tanaka was born before the Russo-Japanese War in 1903. She survived two World Wars and saw the reign of five emperors, starting with the reformist Emperor Meiji and ending with his great-great-grandson, the current Emperor Naruhito.

Tanaka lived in a nursing home in Japan’s Fukuoka Prefecture and celebrated her 119th birthday in January. Most of all, the woman loved soda and chocolate.
