As the 2024 US presidential election looms on the horizon, speculation is mounting about who will join presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris on the ticket as her vice presidential running mate.
According to Report, The Wall Street Journal says several high-profile Democrats have emerged as likely contenders for the coveted VP slot.
Among the frontrunners are three governors from key swing states: Andy Beshear of Kentucky, Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, and Roy Cooper of North Carolina.
Also in the mix is Mark Kelly, the junior senator from Arizona.
As a senator from the solidly Democratic state of California, Harris has the flexibility to choose a VP from a more competitive state as a way to broaden the ticket's appeal.
