Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, Report informs.
“We welcome the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, as the recent escalation of violence has had grave consequences on civilians on both sides. Deaths and injuries have been reported, and tens of thousands of people have been displaced. Access to health care is also affected with health facilities being closed in both countries.
We call on both governments to always ensure the protection of health care facilities, workers, and access to essential health services.
The best medicine is peace,” Ghebreyesus wrote on X.
