White House: ‘We have never defaulted in our history, and we will never’

America is not a deadbeat nation, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said while commenting on the lack of agreement between US President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy, Report informs.

"We pay our bills. We have never defaulted in our history, and we will never,” she said.

“Republicans have said the White House has shown a lack of urgency around negotiations. We’re nine days from the end of the month, and under House rules, it could take four days to get a deal on the floor for a vote. The Speaker wants a deal to be cut this week,” she said.
