White House releases details of Biden-Erdogan meeting

Presidents of the US and Türkiye Joe Biden and Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a meeting in Vilnius discussed Ukraine, as well as Sweden's accession to NATO, Report informs referring to the White House.

The parties discussed regional issues of mutual interest, including continued support for Ukraine and the importance of maintaining stability in the Aegean, the statement said.

Biden and Erdogan also exchanged views on defense and economic priorities.

On July 11, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Erdogan had agreed to quickly send Sweden's application to join the alliance for a vote in the Turkish parliament.
