The Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) has published its annual Global Peace Index report.
Iceland remains the most peaceful country in the world, retaining the position in the ranking since 2008. The North Atlantic country is followed by New Zealand, Denmark, Portugal, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Czech Republic, and Canada in the top ten.
Azerbaijan ranked 121st, Turkey 149th, and Russia is 154th.
As many as 87 countries ascended in the ranking, 73 others showed results worse than the previous year's. The global indicator of peacefulness has worsened by 0.07%.
