The United States has extended invitations to Israel and several Arab nations to attend NATO's 75th anniversary summit in Washington, D.C. This unprecedented step could potentially heighten tensions due to ongoing disagreements among the invited states regarding the situation in Gaza.

According to Report, which cites the Financial Times, that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has cast a wide net, inviting leaders from all 32 allied nations and governments, as well as key figures from Indo-Pacific partner countries including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea. The Middle Eastern contingent is set to include Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain.

The landmark summit, scheduled for July 9-11, 2024, commemorates 75 years since the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in 1949. Key items on the agenda include discussions on establishing a new structure in Wiesbaden, Germany, aimed at supporting Ukraine (NSATU), exploring the concept of a "bridge to NATO" for Ukraine, paving the way for potential future membership.
