US to take measures over foreign hacking attacks

The US administration intends to take measures against other countries, including Russia, if cyberattacks originate on their territory.

Washington is determined to take these measures regardless of the status of dialogue with Moscow on the issue of cybersecurity, Ann Neuberger, US Deputy National Security Advisor told TASS, Report informs.

She reiterated that due to the special military operation in Ukraine, the US "paused the dialogue that was in place." "We, of course, still continue to hold Russia and all countries accountable for cyberattacks that come from within their borders, whether there is or is not a dialogue in place," she said at a briefing for foreign reporters at the US State Department.

Neuberger’s feedback came after being asked if the US side was interested in that dialogue and how its absence could affect US security in that area. She did not specify whether the US administration wanted to renew communication on this matter, nor did she comment on the impact of its absence.
