US sends Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine

The United States is sending Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said on Telegram, Report informs.
“Mi-17s for Ukraine are already being loaded on planes at the US Air Force base,” Yermak said.
The United States earlier announced plans to deliver Mi-17 helicopters to Ukraine, which were to be sent to Afghanistan.
The Mi-17 is used for both civilian and military purposes. The helicopter can accommodate up to 24 passengers and 12 stretchers.
