US, Riyadh plan to close part of deal to normalize ties between Saudi Arabia and Israel

The US and Riyadh could close part of the deal to normalize Saudi Arabia's ties with Israel in the coming weeks, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said speaking at a hearing in the Appropriations Committee of the US House of Representatives.

Blinken said this will require some understandings and agreements between the United States and Saudi Arabia in the areas of security, nuclear energy and defense cooperation.

He said these agreements are very close to being able to conclude them now, but several more weeks may pass before they are completed.
