US operation against Houthis leads to their strengthening in Yemen and region, media reports say

The US-led international coalition's operation in the Red Sea has led to the strengthening of the rebel Houthi movement Ansar Allah in Yemen and throughout the Arab region, Responsible Statecraft said in a statement.

According to Report, the portal estimates that the Western coalition's operation, on which the US has already spent about $1 billion, has not only failed to achieve its goal of containing Houthi activity in the Red Sea but has also led to the strengthening of their positions in Yemen and other Arab countries.

This is due to the fact that Ansar Allah's actions are largely perceived by the Yemeni population as a confrontation with the United States, which supports Israel and its military operation in the Gaza Strip. As a result, the number of those who joined the Houthi rebel movement under the slogan of protecting the Palestinian population has grown.

The Western allies have not been able to inflict sufficient damage on the Houthis to force them to stop attacks on merchant ships passing through the Red Sea, the portal points out.
