US intends to contain threats against Baltic states

The US is determined to contain threats against the Baltic states and is committed to ensuring their freedom and sovereignty, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said at a press conference in Tallinn, Estonia, on Feb. 16, Report informs via TASS.

“The United States remains firmly committed to the freedom and sovereignty of our Baltic allies,” Lloyd Austin said.

He noted that the US united with the Baltic states in containing any threat to common security.

Lloyd Austin said that NATO is building up its deterrence and defense capabilities in the eastern part of the alliance. Then he added that the US is also strengthening its presence on the east flank and will maintain a stable rotating presence in the Baltics.
