US hopeful for Gaza ceasefire agreement next week

The United States is optimistic that a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip could be reached by the end of next week, according to Report, which cites Axios.

The latest round of consultations in Doha has reportedly managed to eliminate nearly all disagreements between Israel and Palestine.

An Israeli official revealed that the Jewish state has agreed to reduce the number of Palestinian prisoners whose release can be vetoed, in exchange for an increase in the number of hostages to be freed weekly during the first phase of the deal.
