US authorities are demanding that Israel complete its military operation in the Gaza Strip by the new year, Report informs via The Economist.
The Economist claims that the Israel Defense Forces will most likely continue the military campaign, albeit with less intensity and relying on ground forces.
Sources note that the position of the American authorities was conveyed by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a recent visit to Israel. Publicly, authorities in both countries deny that the US administration has set any deadlines for Israel. In addition, US authorities demand that Israel make more efforts to “ease the suffering of Palestinian civilians,” especially in the south of the Gaza Strip, the publication adds.
