UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on world leaders heading to New York to participate in the high-level week of the UN General Assembly to strive to reach compromises, Report informs.
He said that now is not the time for posturing or positioning and for indifference or indecisiveness. It’s time for world leaders to come together to make real, practical decisions, he noted.
The UN secretary-general emphasized that politics, diplomacy and effective leadership consist of compromises. World leaders have a special responsibility to reach compromise in designing a shared future for the common good, he said.
