Report informs citing Outlook India that the WFP warned that if the crisis continues, the situation will worsen.
Of the 6.3 million people referred to in the report, at least 65,600 faced serious problems in access to food, another 5.3 million were forced to reduce the number of meals.
In 2022, WFP expanded its efforts to help 3.4 million people in Sri Lanka, but $63 million is urgently needed to implement this program, the message says.
In Sri Lanka, the income of the population has fallen sharply in the past three months, with the income of two out of five households halved. Food inflation across the country reached 80 percent in June.
