UN: Over 28m Afghans need humanitarian assistance this year

Afghanistan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world with over 28 million Afghans in need of assistance, the Afghan division of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said, Report informs via TASS.
Afghanistan is currently going through one of the biggest and worst humanitarian crises in the world with the record 28.3 million people - two thirds of the population - in need of humanitarian assistance and protection in 2023, the message says.
In late December 2022, Afghanistan's Ariana News, citing experts of the UN mission in Afghanistan said in 2023 the number of Afghans in dire need of aid will exceed 28 million people.
