UN: Number of people stricken by famine growing worldwide due to pandemic

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of people suffering from chronic starvation has increased worldwide. The growth exceeded 130 million, Report informs, citing the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

According to the estimations, the world will need at least $200 billion to restore terrestrial ecosystems alone by 2030, not counting the plastic pollution of the oceans.

By 2050, the world's population will grow to about 10 billion, and production must be increased by 50% to provide them with food.
