UN chief says action needed to end threat of landmines, explosive ordnance

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for the action to end the threat of landmines and explosive ordnance.

Report informs that, according to the UN chief's Twitter page, steps must be taken to help people return and re-build their lives in safety and security: “Even after the fighting stops, conflicts often leave behind a terrifying legacy: landmines and explosive ordnance.”

April 4 marks the Mine Awareness Day.
