Ukrainian Foreign Minister: More pressure is needed to stop Putin

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has appealed to Kyiv's allies, Report informs, citing his tweet.

“To stop Putin from further aggression, we call on partners to impose more sanctions on Russia now. First decisive steps were taken yesterday, and we are grateful for them. Now the pressure needs to step up to stop Putin. Hit his economy and cronies. Hit more. Hit hard. Hit now," he tweeted in English.

On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an address to the nation that he recognized the two so-called republics created in the Donbas region. He signed a decree to this end.

Western countries, including Turkey and Georgia, have condemned Russia's move, saying it violates international law.

An absolute majority of the UN members, including Azerbaijan, recognize the Crimean Peninsula and the Donbas as Ukrainian territory.
