Ukraine to import electricity from five countries

Ukraine has requested electricity imports from five countries due to power shortages in the country, Ukrenergo company said on Telegram, Report informs.

"Imports will be carried out throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova with a total volume of 5,000 MWh per hour, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,290 MW during certain hours," the company stated.

Ukrenergo again urged Ukrainians not to turn on powerful household electrical appliances simultaneously and to save electricity.

Ukrainian authorities acknowledge that since spring, the country has lost a huge amount of energy generation capacity. The Kaniv HPP, Dnieper HPP, Zmiyiv TPP were damaged, and the largest power-generating facility in the Kyiv region - the Trypilska TPP - was destroyed.
