The Russian army has intensively shelled Mykolaiv, a major city in the south of Ukraine, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said, Report informs via UNIAN.
“Mykolaiv was under intense fire today. Probably the heaviest of all time. Loud explosions were heard after one in the morning and around five in the morning,” the mayor said.
According to him, the shelling caused explosions in the city, and started fires in the areas where cluster bombs fell.
“Several facilities have been destroyed and residential buildings are damaged. Rescuers are working now,” he added.
