Ukraine proposes to hold UN Security Council meeting

Ukraine has proposed to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said at a meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers in Brussels, Report informs via UNIAN.

According to Kuleba, this is the best option for resolving the crisis.

"We want this to reduce tensions with Russia. Ukraine welcomes any diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. The formation of new security guarantees depends on the holding of the summit in the format of five permanent members of the UN Security Council, as well as Ukraine, Germany and Turkey," he said.

The minister said that this format is ideal for discussing what is happening on the Ukrainian border.

"Ukraine's security is now the number one priority. We use every diplomatic opportunity to ensure this," he said.
