British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has announced a new aid package for Ukraine. Its cost is more than $780 million, according to the press service of the UK Foreign Office, Report informs via RBC Ukraine.
"The UK’s support to Ukraine is unwavering. Our commitment of over £600 million ($780 million) worth of support is the latest installment in our enduring support to Ukraine. This will provide vital support to Ukrainians as they continue to endure relentless Russian attacks," Lammy noted.
The UK will provide Ukraine with $310 million for humanitarian needs and $484 million in the form of credit guarantees from the World Bank to support essential government services, including funding for schools and hospitals, salaries for public servants, and pensions.
Additionally, UK Defense Secretary John Healey announced today that hundreds of additional air defense missiles, tens of thousands of extra artillery shells, and more armored vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of the year.
The previous package of military aid to Ukraine was announced by the UK on July 7. It was made by the new British Defense Secretary John Healey during his visit to Odesa. The package included Brimstone precision missiles, ammunition, and artillery pieces.
Ukraine and the UK also signed an agreement on the development of defense capabilities. It provides for the supply, repair and production of weapons.
