Ankara has decided to officially hand the criminal case on the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi to Saudi courts, Report informs, citing NTV channel.
The 59-year-old journalist was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018, in a gruesome murder that shocked the world.
The court earlier arrested 26 Saudi citizens in absentia, but no tangible results were achieved in almost two years. Khashoggi's girlfriend, Hatice Cengiz, said the process came to a standstill due to Riyadh's refusal to cooperate with Turkish authorities.
