Tunisian law enforcement officers have detained a long-wanted terrorist, Report informs, citing an official statement issued by the Tunisian Interior Ministry.
The detainee was one of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group leaders and took part in hostilities in the region. Simultaneously, the terrorist was in close contact with members of the terrorist group Katibat Uqba ibn Nafi, a branch of Al Qaeda in Tunisia, located near the Algerian border.
He provided terrorists with funds, weapons, and ammunition from abroad. As a result of a special operation, a machine gun with ammunition was seized. The officials arrested other terrorists who supplied him with material and technical support.
