US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose steep new tariffs on European exports to the United States if European countries introduce a digital services tax targeting American companies, according to Report.
"Many European countries are discussing the introduction of a digital services tax on American companies. Some are already close to implementing it. Let this statement serve as a warning: any country that imposes such a tax will immediately face a 100% tariff on all goods exported to the United States. These tariffs will replace any trade agreements with those countries, regardless of whether they have already entered into force or have only been signed. Furthermore, if they begin collecting the above-mentioned tax from American companies, the 100% tariffs will be imposed immediately," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
