The flood situation worsened in India's Tripura on August 22 with the death toll rising to 12 and two others going missing, Report informs referring to The Indian Express.
As many as 65,400 people have been given shelters in 450 relief camps till now and the state government said seven lakh people of the 37 lakh population are affected due to the flood situation.
The government also assured that even amid the alarming flood situation, there is no crisis of fuel, food or other essentials anywhere in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday evening, the state government’s Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department said, “Preliminary reports suggest extensive damages to physical infrastructure and agriculture crops along with damages to houses, livestock.
The actual figures will be known only after the field assessment is completed”.
