Baku. 7 December. REPORT.AZ/ The court accepted the prosecution's indictment over assassination of Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, Report informs citing Kommersant.

According to the information, the trial begins on January 8, 2019.

Notably, the charges area brought against 28 suspects, including FETO leader Fethullah Gülen.

The indictment states that the attack on the diplomat was organized by the terrorist organization FETO, which Ankara accuses of attempting a coup in July 2016. Suspects in the murder of the Russian ambassador are accused of violating the constitutional order, involvement in a terrorist organization and planning a murder for the purpose of terror.

Andrei Karlov was shot dead on December 19, 2016 at the opening of the photo exhibition “Russia from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka through the eyes of a traveler” in Ankara. The attack was committed by police officer Mevlut Altyntash, he was eliminated by the security forces on the spot.
