Nigeria, Niger and Algeria have begun construction of the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline to supply natural gas to European countries.
Report informs, citing Business Insider Africa, that the pipeline, which will run from the Nigerian city of Warri through Niger to the Hassi Messaoud gas hub in Algeria, will be 4,128 km long and have a capacity of up to 30 billion cubic meters.
From there, the gas will be directed to Mediterranean export terminals and then to European markets via pipelines. Construction has already begun in Algeria, while work in Niger is planned to start in 2027.
